With 24/7 building access, high-speed internet, fully equipped meeting rooms, and dedicated event spaces for workshops and networking, CollabSpace provides everything a freelancer, entrepreneur, or small team needs to focus and grow.
But CollabSpace’s offering goes deeper than desks and Wi-Fi. Members gain access to coaching, business support, and a network of peers who push each other forward. Their mission is simple but powerful: to create a place where people don’t just work they grow. Flexible memberships serve everyone from solopreneurs working on their first idea to established teams that need room to expand.
Despite having a compelling real-world offering, CollabSpace’s digital presence wasn’t reflecting the quality and community of what they had built. CollabSpace had built something genuinely valuable in Ottawa a warm, energetic workspace with real community behind it. The problem was that none of that came through online. THE SOLUTION
Webfoundr’s approach was structured into four stages:
Stage 1: Discovery & Strategy Understanding the Brand Before Redesigning It
Webfoundr began by getting under the skin of what CollabSpace actually was not just a coworking space, but a community built around growth, connection, and support for Ottawa’s entrepreneurial community. Understanding this distinction was critical, because the redesign couldn’t just look better; it had to feel like CollabSpace.
The team analyzed CollabSpace’s existing website to identify exactly what was failing: unclear messaging hierarchy, weak visual identity, no SEO structure, and no clear path for a visitor to become a member. They audited the competitive landscape of coworking spaces in Ottawa and identified the content, tone, and design approaches that were working elsewhere and where gaps remained that CollabSpace could own.
From this analysis, a clear strategy emerged: lead with community and atmosphere visually, structure the content around the three core audiences (freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small teams), and build an SEO and content foundation from day one not as an afterthought. Every subsequent decision in design and development flowed from this strategic clarity.

Stage 2: Design Bringing CollabSpace’s Community Spirit to Life Online
The redesign began in Figma, where Webfoundr’s design team built a completely new visual identity for CollabSpace’s digital presence. The goal was to close the gap between what the space felt like in person warm, professional, inspiring and what it looked like online. Every design decision was made with that gap in mind.
High-quality visuals, modern typography, and a clean professional layout replaced the cluttered, dated aesthetic of the old site. The new design used generous white space, strong imagery, and a clear visual hierarchy to guide visitors through CollabSpace’s story: what the space offers, who it’s for, what makes it different, and how to join. Navigation was simplified so that a first-time visitor could find the information they needed within seconds.
Critically, the design was built to inspire action. Calls-to-action were placed deliberately throughout the page flow, making it easy for a potential member to book a tour, ask a question, or start the membership process without hunting for next steps. The result was a website that didn’t just look like CollabSpace it worked like a member acquisition tool.

Stage 3: Development A WordPress Website Built for Performance, Flexibility, and Growth
With designs approved, Webfoundr rebuilt the CollabSpace website from scratch on WordPress chosen deliberately for its ease of management, so CollabSpace’s team could update content, add events, and publish posts without needing a developer every time. The site was built to be owned and operated by the CollabSpace team long after launch.
Responsive design was a non-negotiable. The site was developed to perform flawlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile because for many potential members, a phone search is the first touchpoint. Page load speeds were optimized throughout the build, with image compression, clean code architecture, and performance-first development decisions made at every layer.
Webfoundr also handled the full domain and hosting setup configuring a reliable, secure hosting environment with SSL certification, automated backups, and the infrastructure needed to support a growing online presence. Contact forms, membership enquiry flows, and event pages were all built and tested as part of the core development scope.
